He started racing in 2001 in the 4 Cyl Class at SNS because it had been his father's and family's long time obsession.  His first win was in 2002 in the 4 Cyl Class at SNS.  Career highlights include 2001 Rookie of the Year, 2002 Won 4 of 7 races, 2003 won 1 of 2 races.

John's most exhilarating racing moment was in 2002 when he started at the rear of the field of 22 and won in a 35 lap race.  He's most proud that his first race in 2002 was a win.

John's brother, Wil Smith, is his racing hero.
