Junior Newborn

Junior Newborn drives the #5 Street Stock Class car.  He lives in LaGrange, NC.  His home track is Southern National Speedway but he can also be found racing at Coastal Plains.

Junior's #5 car is the black and orange Chevrolet Monte Carlo 355.

He started racing in 1995 in the Pure Stock Class at Wayne County Speedway because he'd always wanted to.  His first win was in 1995 in the Pure Stock Class at Wayne County Speedway.  Career highlights include 60 wins, 2 Rookie of the Year titles, 4 Track Championships, won Rookie of the Year and Track Champion at SNS and Wayne County Speedway in his first year racing.

The thrill of racing for Junior is building a car, getting it to handle and winning races.  His most exhilarating racing moment was winning the Points Championship his first year.  He's most proud that we have been able to keep winning races and championships year after year.

Dale Earnhardt is Junior's racing hero.

Of racing, Junior says, "That when they go to the track they should see who sponsors the cars and let them know that they have seen them!".
