Johnny Simons Jr.

Johnny Simons Jr. drives the #8 Baby Grand Class car.  He lives in Aylett, VA.  His home track is Southampton but he can also be found racing at OCS, SNS and ODS. 

Johnny's #8 car is the red and black Intrepid 1250 Yamaha.

He started racing in 1993 in the Mini Cup Class at Southside Speedway because he got the right opportunity and never looked back.  His first win was in 1994 in the Mini Cup Class at Southside Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Johnny is the fans!  His most exhilarating racing moment was when he took lap at Watkins Glen.  He's most proud of having the same sponsor for 10 years.

Richard Petty is Johnny's racing hero.

Of racing, Johnny says, "Before you can win a race you have got to finish first!  Take that either way you like, but you have to finish first!".
