Ricky W. Boahn drives the #99 Late Model
Class car. He lives in Raeford, NC. His home track is
Fayetteville but he can also be found racing at Lakeview.
Ricky's #99 car is the red and white,
orange numbers, Pontiac, Grand Prix, Larry Shaw chassis, Taylor Racing
Engine.
He started racing in the Pure Stock Class
at Fayetteville because he's always raced, starting young racing
Go-Carts. His first win was in 1991 in the Jr. Late Model Class at
Fayetteville. Career highlights include 1992 Track Champion at
Fayetteville and Lakeview SC., 1997 Super Later Model Champion at Carolina
Speedway and he's finished runner up in Points three times in the Open
Wheel Modified Class.
The thrill of racing for Ricky is winning
races and any championship.....and he adds, meeting people! His most
exhilarating racing moment was in 2001 at Friendship Speedway in Elkin,
winning the largest purse race of his career with the $3000 Carolina Clash
Race.
He's most proud of having dominated races
and winning 2 Track Championships in 1992.
Dale Earnhardt Sr. is Ricky's racing hero.
Of racing, Dale says, "You better
have a big wallet and a supportive family to be successful!".
