Ken McGuire Jr.
#6
Ken McGuire Jr. drives the #6 Northeast
Dirt Modified Class car. His home track is Utica-Rome Speedway but
he can also be found racing at Albany /Saratoga Speedway. He lives
in Troy, NY.
Team members helping Ken are:
Bryan McGuire, Mark Kane, Gary Broddock.
Ken started racing in 1968 in the 100cc
Kart/250cc Motorcycle Class because of the competition and interest in
the technical side. His first win was in '69 in the 100cc class at
Oakland Valley Raceway. Career highlights include winning Daytona
Dirt Track World Championship race in '86, 5 Motorcycle World Land Speed
Records, Kart National Champ, as engine builder, Ken's sons Daytona Kart
Indoor World Championship win in '92.
The thrill of racing for Ken is when the
shop work, driver skill and luck all come together. His most
exciting racing moment was his first ride in a 100 mph road race kart,
VIR, in '69. He's most proud of approaching his 40th year as a
racer and having the respect of his fellow racers.
Ken's racing heroes are all weekend
racers who race for the love of the sport.
Of racing, Ken says, "To see the best
racing, see motorcycles or cars on dirt! Everything else is second
best! When the green flag drops, the "BS" stops!".
