Tony Parker
#15
Tony Parker drives the #15 360 Sprint Car.
His home track is Sunset Speedway but he can also be found racing at
Madras Speedway, Cottage Grove Speedway and anywhere the USCA goes.
He lives in Portland, OR.
Team members helping Tony are:
Terry Parker, Austin Parker, Dave Pfaff. Mary Parker is the car
owner.
Tony started racing in 1977 in Quarter
Midgets at Alpenrose Dairy because it is a family sport. His
sister and he began racing at the ages of 5 and 7. His first win
was that same year. Career highlights include taking the Region
Nine Championship in their first year of racing in 1977 at the age of 7,
setting Track Records many times, one standing for over 10 years.
After several years of taking a break, the family is back running
another Open Wheel. It's a lot bigger and faster, but the family
is still there.
The thrill of racing is having half a
dozen Sprint cars all around you sliding sideways through a turn.
Pure adrenaline! His most exciting racing moment was Rookie of the
Year from USCA. He's most proud of flipping a Sprint car for the
first time and his crew getting it back together in time to run the
Main.
Tony's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt.
Of racing, Tony says, "Racing isn't just
driving a car, it's family, friends, sponsors, and sometimes strangers
who help us all doing what we love! Before you can win you have to
finish!".
