Nicole Bower drives the #75 410 Sprint
Class car. Her home track is Williams Grove Speedway but she can
also be found racing at Port Royal Speedway and Lincoln Speedway.
Team members helping Nicole are:
Father, Gina Bower, Brooke, Frankie Herr, David Russ, Ray Miller, Derek
Miller. Gary Bower is the car owner.
Nicole started racing in 2002 in the
Quarter Midgets class at Linda's Speedway because she'd had an itch to
race since she was a young girl. She would always watch at Silver
Springs where her Father sponsored a Sportsman. Her first win was
in '02 in the Quarter Midget at Linda's Speedway. Her first win in
Sprint was in '09 in the 358 class at Port Royal Speedway. Career
highlights include first female to win at Williams Grove, finishing 3rd
at Grands in Quarter Midget in CA., setting Fast Time at Silins Grove in
both 358/410, setting Fast Time at the Grove.
The thrill of racing for Nicole is the
adrenaline rush of going wide open in the corner at 120 mph is
unbeatable and cannot be compared to anything she's ever done. Her
most exciting racing moment was winning at Williams Grove and getting to
start on the front row of the Dash at a World of Outlaws race next to
Steve Kinser. She's most proud of overcoming adversity of being a
female in a man's sport and showing other females that it is okay to
take that step in racing. It wasn't easy when she first started
racing, being one of the only females. But she thinks she has
gained the respect of a lot of drivers she races with on a weekly basis.
Nicole's racing hero is Steve Kinser.
Of racing, Nicole says, "It is a sport
that is very dangerous, yet exhilarating. A lot of people think
it's just cars going in a circle but there's a lot more than that.
Takes certain kind of dedication and love for the sport to get behind
the wheel and race your heart out week in and week out even when times
