Al Taylor

Al Taylor drives the #2 fast Stock 8 Class car.  He lives in Fountain Inn.  His home track is Riverside Speedway but he can also be found racing at Laurens Speedway, Buffalo Speedway, Sugar Creek Speedway, Thunder Valley in Lawndale, NC.  

Al's #2fast car is the yellow and blue '83 Chevy Monte Carlo, 355 engine, GM metric chassis.

Al started racing in 1991 in the Modified 4 Class at Gaffney and I-85 because he was following in his cousin's footsteps...Lane "Monkey" Boggs.  His first win was in 1996 in the Stock 8 Class at Laurens Speedway.  He's won races at Windy Hill, Sugar Creek, and Stock 8 Race at Thunder Valley during a SAS Race.  He also won the SAS Race in 2002 at Riverside Speedway.

In 1996 Al won 6 out of 12 races at Laurens Speedway.  In 1997 Al was the Track Champion in Stock 8 plus other SAS Race wins.

The thrill of racing for Al is having family and friends together and going fast!  Winning the Stock 8 Championship in '97 was his greatest racing thrill.  His greatest racing moment was when he outran his cousin, Lane Boggs, with Lane steadily pushing Al around the track, yet Al outran him.

Fast Freddy Smith, Scott Bloomquist and Monkey Boggs are Al's racing heroes.
