Preston Locklear drives the #04 Rookie Class car.  His home track is Carolina Speedway.  He lives in Elrod, NC.  People who help Preston are:  Jeff Smith, Larry Locklear, Lance Locklear, Locklear Convenience Store, Roger, Chris, Earl, and friends.

He started racing in 1971 in the Hobby Stock Class at Dillon Speedway because he just loved racing.  His first win was in 1973 in the Hobby Stock Class at Dillon Speedway.  Career highlights include Track Championship in 1971 at Dillon Speedway.  He quit racing in 1982 and just started back in 2005 because he loved it so much he just had to do it again.

The thrill of racing for Preston is just to see if he can out drive the competitors.  His most exciting racing moment was the first time he got in the car, the first lap he came out of turn 4 and spun it around!  He's most proud of winning the Championship without winning a race.  He ran 26 races and finished in the top 5 - 22 times.

Preston's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Of racing, Preston says, "If you are going to do it for money, you just as well stay home.  Everyone needs to try it at some time!".
