Ed began racing in 1982 in the Stock Four class at Carolina Speedway for the thrill of the racing experience. "Its a lot of fun and keeps me out of trouble. His first win was in 1984 in the Stock Four class at the same track.

Career highlights for Ed include: track champion in the Modified Four class in 1998. The biggest thrill in racing for Ed is: " Getting a complicated car to run consistent and win.". His most exhilarating moment was his first win in a Mod 4. "I had to beat and band go do it."

He is most proud of owning his own Late model racer. "Shoot straight and be as clean as you can.

Ed won the Mod 4 Championships at :Lakeview in 1998
