Jimmy Ray
#9
Jimmy Ray drives Late Model. He lives in Fayetteville. His home track is
Fayetteville Speedway but he also can be found racing at Wayne County,
and Countyline Speedway.
Jimmy started racing in 1990 in the
Modified 4 cyl Class at Carolina Speedway after sitting in the stands
one night and saying, "I can do that", thus it was on.
His first win was in 1998 in the Modified 4 Cyl. In 2001 he had
two wins and the Track Sportsmanship Award!
The thrill of racing for Jimmy is the
idea of going fast and trying to beat everyone at the game of
racing. His greatest thrill was beating Bobby Hudson two times
this past year....Bobby works at Jack Roush Racing in Nascar and drives
against Jimmy. His greatest racing moment was winning two races on
a $1500 motor !

Bill Elliott #9 is Jimmy's racing hero.
Jimmy's quote is, "I race against
alot of money cars but that don't mean that they're going to win.
One thing you can bet on is that I will be there Saturday night, come
hell or high water!".
