Doug races out of Gastonia NC. Cherokee speedway is his home track and he also races at Carolina, and Thunder Valley.  Doug began racing in 1975 in a Semi- modified at Metrolina Speedway.  His Father was in to racing so he went every week. He got his first win in 1978 at Metrolina in a semi mod.

Doug has won the World 6 cyl championship. He won the 1992 and 2002 Shrine 100 at Carolina speedway. He won the 2001 Slick Elliot at Cherokee, the Topless 100 at East Lincoln in 2002 and the Carolina Clash at Thunder Valley in 2002.

Winning is the thrill of racing for Doug. He is most proud of his Shrine race wins.
