Chip Owens

Chip is from Marion, SC.  He started racing in 1999 at the Darlington Dragway because he had a fast street car and wanted to know how fast it REALLY was.

The thrill of racing for him is "a hard launch on a sticky track".  His most exhilarating racing moment was outrunning a friend's highly modified 5.0 Mustang.

He can often be heard saying:  "Racing is a sickness for which there is no cure."
