William Haynie drives the #07 Charger Class car.  His home track is Dillon Motor Speedway but he can also be found racing at Darlington Raceway and Myrtle Beach Speedway.  He lives in Darlington, SC.

William started racing in 1978 in the Motor Cross Class at Sand Hill, IN and Chesterfield, SC because he was brought up on anything with a motor.  His first win was in 1979 in the Motor Cross Jr 80cc Class at Sand Hill. 

The thrill of racing for William is that it's his life.  His most exciting racing moment was the first time he got in a Legend car and raced it, finishing 3rd in his first race.  He's most proud to still be racing.  Lots of people helping, his crew and his sponsors who have stuck with him through thick and thin. 

William's racing hero is Juan Pablo Montoya.

Of racing, William says, "If I had to explain it you would never know!  I can't put my finger on it but my heart knows.  It's not swinging from a basketball goal or running bases!".
