He started racing in 1971 in the Hobby
Class at Sumter Speedway because he's always loved racing and had raced
Go-Karts since he was 13 years old. His first win was in 1973 in the
Hobby Class at Conway Speedway. Career highlights include 1976
Rookie Class Champion at Myrtle Beach Speedway, 1979 Darlington Champion,
1982 and 1983 Track Champion at Carolina Speedway and 2004 Track Champion
at Florence Motor Speedway.
The thrill of racing for Rudy is the
competition. His most exciting racing moments have been many.
He's most proud of being able to come back and win after cancer.
Rudy's racing hero is Fred Lorezen.
