Baron races out of Connelly's Springs NC. His home track is Hickory Motor Speedway.  He also races at Tri County Lonesome Pine and Summerville.

Baron began racing in 1992 in a super stock at Hickory Motor Speedway. He started racing because "I ran my mouth too much to my friends and I had to prove it."

He got his first win at Hickory in a street stock in 2001. In 2001 he set a track record twice in pure stock at hickory.  He also set a track record at Summersville in a cruiser bruiser. He got 3 wins in 2001 and 10 poles.

When ask about the thrill of racing he said. "I wish I knew!  Maybe doing better than other expect of me."

He is most proud of his first pole award.
