Shane Bowen
#41
Shane Bowen drives the #41 Thunder &
Lightning Class car. His home track is Dillon Motor Speedway but
he can also be found racing at Florence Motor Speedway and I-20
Speedway. He lives in Huntington, WV.
Team members helping Shane are:
Mark Seibert, Rhett Seibert, Van Keesler, Randy Birt, daughters - Teah
and Kyra.
Shane started racing in 2001 in the
Street Stock Class at I-20 Speedway because he enjoyed the sport and
enjoyed the challenge. Shane's racing has been limited due to
concurrent military duty, family commitments and proximity to his crew
and shop. He's probably only averaged 2-3 races per year to date
and this is his first experience racing on asphalt.
The thrill of racing for Shane is the
speed but more importantly he enjoys the people and the time at the
tracks. His most exciting racing moment was when he won a Heat
Race at I-20 Speedway after only racing a few times. He actually
beat one of the top contenders in his division in that race. He's
most proud of the friendships that he has developed and maintained.
Shane's racing hero is Richard Petty, as
much as a person, let alone his racing accomplishments.
Of racing, Shane says, "It brings family
and friends together. It is a clean sport for the most part and it
encourages kids to focus on math and sciences if they want to be
successful entering the sport!".
