PHIL WILLIAMS

Phil Williams drives the #55 Chevy Camero in the T&L class at Florence Motor Speedway. He is 39 years old and lives in Sumter, SC.  

He started racing in 1998 in the Pure Stock class at Sumter Speedway. His first win on Dirt came in 2001.  He won a total of 4 races in 2001 and 2002 with a 2nd place finish in the points standings in 2002.  

After being out of racing for a couple of years due to military commitments, he returned to racing in 2005 at the Florence Motor Speedway.   In his first year on pavement, he managed 3 wins and a 2^nd place finish in the points. 

2006  Phil had a great year. He won 5 races and finished second 5 times.  In the 16 races he ran this season he finished 14 of them in the top 4.   The only down side to his season was his finish in the points.  Due to an injury, Phil was unable to compete in the final 3 races of the season taking away any chance he had for a Championship.  Phil plans to be able to compete in the 2007 season and put his #55 Chevy Camero back in victory lane.

 The thrill of racing for Phil is racing hard and winning. His greatest thrill was his first win on both dirt and pavement.  

Jennifer Williams (wife and car owner), Ricky Hair and Julie Hair, Warren Williams (Father), and Clarence Hair have helped in Phil's racing program. 

Terry LaBonte is his racing hero.
