Kent races out of Timmonsville. Florence Motor Speedway is his home track. He also races Sumter Speedway. Kent began racing in 1993 in a pure stock at FMS. He began because it is a family tradition.  He won the pure stock track championship his rookie year.

When we ask Kent about the thrill of racing and he said "gives me somthing to do so I don't get into any other kind of trouble.

In 2002 he won 12 races at Sumter with the blue #8 Monte Carlo.
