Frank Sessoms
#12
Frank is from Darlington SC.
Florence Motor Speedway is his home track. He races all over. Frank began
racing in 1956 in an Amateur car at Sumter Speedway.
Frank was interested in any thing with a
engine. He went to a modified race at Columbia when he was in high school,
and decided to race. He got his first win in a hobby car at the old Darlington
dirt track.
Franks racing career has taken him every
where in racing. It has not mattered what level he has been a success. In
1969 he won the Richmond 300. He was 19th in the first Winston cup race at
Talladega. He was 4th in the Paul Revere 250 at Daytona in 1969. He
won the Turkey 250 at Fayetteville NC. He was second to Ken Rush in the
Grand Touring Division season championship. Frank has raced in 6 decades.
The thrill of racing for Frank is the competition
and always being competitive. Frank has raced against 3 generations of
Earnhardts and beat them all.
When asked his greatest racing thrill, he
said he did not know if it was the inaugural Talladega race or the
Richmond win. But when ask what his greatest racing moment was, he did not
hesitate. "Winning the feature last week!" Team
Duane Weatherford
Richard Petty is his racing hero.
Quote: "If you got a dream follow it and give it 100%!"
