David A. Roberts drives the #18 Late Model Class car at Greenville Pickens Speedway.  He lives in Simpsonville, SC.  People that have helped David are:  Ryan Roberts, Johnny Taylor, Billy Easler, Larry O'Rear, Seth Barboar, Duane Dean and Jimmy Rhodes.

David started racing in 1979 in the Limited Late Model Class At Fountain Inn because his brother raced and David loved it.  His first win was in 1982 in the Late Model Class at Fountain Inn.  Career highlights include Track Championship in 1987 and 1988 at Laurens Speedway in the Late Model Class, 1st win at Greenville Pickens in 2001, 3 in 2003 and 2004 and over 75 career Feature wins.

The thrill of racing for  David is going fast and winning races.  His most exciting racing moment was racing with Randy Porter for his first win and then getting together in 2001.  He's most proud of trying to make a difference to a younger kid and showing them they can be whatever they want to be if they try hard enough.

David's racing hero is his brother, Eddie Hawkins.

Of racing, David says, "It's a lot of hard work, but one of the most rewarding things I have done to work and  have success to win races!".
