Phillips
#11
Fred Phillips drives the #11 Late Model
Class car. He lives in Greenville, SC. His home track is Greenville
Pickens Speedway.
He began racing in 1971 in Hobby Class at
Greenville Pickens Speedway for the fun. His first win was in 1973 at
Greenville in Hobby Blass. Career highlights include Pole 1999 Shrine Race
and numerous Second Place finishes, Heat wins and Qualifying.
The thrill of racing for Him is good close
racing with drivers that race and respect you. His most exciting racing
moment was racing when his Dad was alive and for him to share in it. He is
most proud of learning how to race and get respect and give the respect
back to the drivers he races with, and learning from all of the
sometimes stupid mistakes he has made while racing.
Fred's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt.
Of racing, Fred says, "The greatest thing
about life is winning your salvation by knowing God, The greatest thing
about racing is not winning as much as it is having the respect of
the competitors you race against."
