Gerald Mintz
#28
Gerald Mintz drives the #28 Late Model
Class car. He lives in Hopkins, SC. His home track is Sumter
Speedway but he also races at I-20 Speedway.
Gerald started racing in 1989 in the Hobby
Class at Columbia Speedway because his brother Lee raced and he wanted to
keep up with hin. Gerald fell in
love with it. His first win was in 1989 in the Hobby Class at Cola
Speedway. He's had 7 Track Championships, won 4 Carolina Clash races
and 2 $5000 to win Thanksgiving races at Sumter.
The thrill of racing for Gerald is the
rush he gets when he goes out onto the track and the speed. He's
most proud of winning the big races with all that competition.
His most exciting racing moment was
winning his first BIG $$$ race.
Team
Crew Chief, Randall Mintz, sons
Justin and Austin, and Doug Potter
Cale Yarborough is Gerald's racing hero.
Gerald says racing is like a disease, you
just can't stop doing it! Its a lot of fun and it takes bunch of
time and dedication!
