Bobby started racing in 1987 in the
Hobby Class at I-20 Speedway because his Father-in-law had a dirt car.
His first win was in 1994 in the Mod 4 Class at I-20 Speedway.
Career highlights include CMT 2000 Champion in Open Wheel, three I-20
Speedway Track Championships in Open Wheel and Mod 4, two Cola Speedway
in Open Wheel.
The thrill of racing for Bobby is the
fellowship and competition with family, friends and drivers. His
most exciting racing moment was winning the Open Wheel Race at
Oglethorpe in 2000, getting a Late Model ride owned by Jeff & Darlene
Henderson and over 185 Main Event wins. He's most proud of being
able to come as far as they have on a very limited budget. He's
won with cars that other people with a lot more money would have junked.
Bobby's racing hero is Rusty Covan.
Of racing, Bobby says, "Remember, it's a
sport! It's meant to be fun, not only for the driver but also for
the family and friends who help!".
