David Motes drives the #91 UCAR
Class car. His home track is Lancaster Motor Speedway, but can
also be found at I-77 Speedway, Carolina Speedway and Cherokee.
Team members helping David are:
April Motes and Alex Motes. David and April Motes are the car owners.
David started racing in 2012 in UCAR
Class at Lancaster Speedway because he wanted to honor his Dad, Vernon
"Blackjack" Motes, who was a dirt track racer. Career highlights include
having a great Rookie year. 2 wins, 24 in the top 5, 5th in Points at
Lancaster Motor Speedway and 6th in points at I-77 Speedway.
The thrill of racing for David is
just being at a race track, car or not, having a blast, he loves racing
(especially dirt). His most exciting racing moment was his 2nd win
of his Rookie year. He is most proud of his 1st win.
David's racing hero is his Dad, Vernon
"Blackjack" Motes and David Pearson, his Godfather.
Of racing, David says, "Love it or
hate it, dirt is for racing, asphalt is for getting there. I'm only 33
years old and have been going racing all my life (I love it). It's a
family thing, I was born into it and I hate rainouts!".
