Chris Gosnell
#8
Chris Gosnell drives the #8 Stock 4 Class
car. His home track is Riverside Speedway but he can also be found
racing at Mileback Speedway and Harris Speedway. He lives in
Marietta, SC.
Team members helping Chris are:
Alan Harris (car owner), Cory Gosnell, David Gosnell, Tommy Goldsmith,
Robert Green, Bobby Hubbard, Johnny Raines, Slangshot, Jimmy's Garage,
The Gilberts and Michael Lingerfelt.
Chris started racing in 1998 in the
Rookie 4 class at Riverside Speedway and Traveler's Rest Speedway
because he had friends who were already racing and it looked like fun.
He had a lot of help from David Ray Gosnell and the Gilbert family.
His first win was in 1999 in the Rookie class at Riverside Speedway.
Career highlights include 4 wins in a row this year (2005) at Mileback
Speedway in Stock 4, 3 other wins in Rookie between 1999-2001, 5th in
Points in Rookie in 2001 and 4th in Points in Modified 4 at Riverside
Speedway in 2004.
The thrill of racing for Chris is
getting to run fast and getting it sideways through the turns and going
to the front in one piece. His most exciting racing moment was his
first win at Riverside Speedway because of the tough competition.
He's most proud that he doesn't have to destroy everybody else's cars to
get to the front and still finish up in the front in the Points every
year.
Chris's racing heroes are Mark Martin
and Rusty Wallace.
Of racing, Chris says, "It's fun, dirty
and very expensive. Get plenty of help and try to keep it and your
sponsors. It's hard to keep everybody happy when you're driving a
race car!".
