Robert Ard
#00
Robert Ard drives the #00 Super Truck.
He lives in Pamplico, SC. His home track is Myrtle Beach Speedway
but he can also be found racing at Florence Motor Speedway.
He started racing in 1996 in the Late
Model Class at Myrtle Beach Speedway because his father, who dominated the
Busch Series in 1983 and 1984, was Robert's inspiration. Robert's
first win was in May of 2000, with his Dad there with him. Career
highlights include finishing 2nd in the Points chase by only 38 points in
2001, in spite of losing his ride with only 4 races to go.
His most exciting racing moment would be
every race, but the night he out ran Jimmy Herrington for his first win
was pretty special. He's most proud of being the son of a Living
Legend.
Robert's racing hero is his Dad, Sam Ard.
Of racing, Robert says, "Local tracks are
where the stars are born and the sponsors are who bring the entertainment
to you. If you want a fun field night with non stop racing from start to
finish, GO TO THE LOCAL SPEEDWAYS. A lot cheaper in cost and a lot
more HARD RACING!".
