Sam Ely drives the #74 Mini Stock Class car.  He lives in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Myrtle Beach Speedway is his home track. 

He began racing in 2001 in the 4 Cyl Class at Myrtle Beach Speedway for something to do.  In 2001, he placed fifth in the points.

The thrill of racing for Sam is to go fast.  His most exciting racing moment was when he hit the wall.  He's most proud of winning a Heat Race.

Sam's racing hero is Ned Jerett.

Of racing, Sam says, "It's fun!".
