He began racing in 2004 at Riverside in Rookie Class because of the love for racing he has always had. His first win was in 2004 in Young Gun Class at Harris Motor Speedway. Career highlights include, finishing 5th in Points his first year of racing, and Rookie of the Year 2004 at Riverside.

The thrill of racing for Matthew is the excitement. His most exciting racing moment was winning his first race. He is most proud of finishing 5th in Points and also of the Rookie of the Year win.

Matthew's racing hero is Mark Martin.
