He started racing in 1990 in the Go-Kart
Class at Speedway Park because it was always his passion. His first
win was in 1992 in the Limited Mods at Suger Tit Speedway. Career
highlights include Track Champion in Limited Mods in 1996, and Track
Champion in Dwarfs in 2001.
The thrill of racing for Jamie is the
speed! His most exhilarating racing moment was winning the first
money race at Windy Hill with a $5000 car against $15,000 cars.
"That was great!" He's most proud of just having the
ability to race. He started when he was 22 with help from his uncle
Dave and Grandpa DeRusk. Without them he couldn't have done it and
probably wouldn't be where he is today.
