JODY TRUETT

Jody Truett drives the #02 Thunder & Lightning Class car.  He is 34 years old and lives in Sumter, SC.  His Home Track is Sumter Speedway.

He started racing in 1984 in Street Stock Class because he liked racing cars and "wanted to keep my drivers license", so he went to the dirt track.  His first win was in 1984.  Jody moved to the T & L class in 2001.  In 1986 he was Hobby Stock Track Champion and in 1996 he was Pure Stock Track Champion.

The thrill of racing for Jody is the competition.  His greatest racing thrill was winning his first race or just winning a race period.  His greatest racing moments were both Track Championships.

Son Cody Truett, nephew Terry Truett and Marty Horne have helped with Jody's racing program.

Mark Martin is Jody's racing hero.

Jody says, " it's not where you start in the race that counts, it's where you finish!".
