James A Stephens drives the #17s Pro Stock/Super Street Stock Class car.  His home track is Sumter Speedway but he can also be found racing at I-20 Speedway and Modoc Speedway.  He lives in Blythewood, SC.

James started racing in 1993 in the Street Stock Class at New Columbia Speedway.  His first win was that same year. 

James's racing heroes are Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.
