David McCoy lives in Franklin, NC. His home track is Taccoa Speedway.

He began racing in 1994 in Hobbie Class at Smokey Mountain because its in his family. His first win was in 1994 in Hobbie Class at the same track. Career highlights include Championship-Smokey Mountain-1997, 1998 and 1999. 2004-2nd  1/2 Track Champion at Taccoa Speedway and 9 Feature wins at Taccoa Speedway.

The thrills of racing for David are the rush of the speed and the  intensity of the win.

Every racing moment is exciting for David. He is most proud of winning 2002 Labor Day Race at Smokey Mountain Speedway.

His racing hero is Benji Cole #21.

Of racing, David says, "Once you have had dirt in your eyes, you'll never stop racing."
