Edward Basey

Edward Basey drives the #4 Late Model Class car.  He lives in Evans GA.  His home track is Gordon Park but he also can be found racing at I-20 Speedway and Sumter Speedway.

He started racing 1980 in Street Stock at Gordon Park Speedway because he and his brothers went to the races one night.  His brother Tom said if you can build the car, I'll build the motor and we went racing!  His first win was in 1981 in the Street Stock Class at Swainsboro, GA.  Career highlights include winning the West Virginia Speedway in the mid '80's and lots of Track Championships.

The thrill of racing for Ed is the competition and camaraderie of crew and people.  He's most proud that his family has stuck with him his whole career.  His brother has been with Ed from day one!
