car. He lives in Sumter, SC. Clay's Home
Track is Sumter Speedway, but he also races at I-20 Speedway.

He started racing in 1993 in the Pro-Stock
Class at Sumter Speedway because of his dad, Clayton Sims Sr.
His first win was in 1999 in the Stock 8 class at
I-20 Speedway. In 2001 he had four 2nd place races.
The thrill of racing for Clay is the
speed! His greatest racing thrill was winning the race at I-20
His greatest racing moment is outrunning more
expensive, faster cars.
Clay's racing heroes are Mark Martin
and Clay's Father.
