Jeff Smith drives the #70 Late Model Class
car. Jeff is from Gastonia NC. He runs selected shows with
different series. People that help Jeff are Crew Chief, David
Weekly, plus Eddie Waddell, James Ross and Gene Gann.
He began racing in 1984 in a Late Model at
Cherokee Speedway because he is the 3rd generation racing. His first
win was at Cherokee in 1985 in the Late Models.
Career highlights include the 1994 Hav-a-Tampa
Rookie of the Year and 3rd in Points, the Southern
All stars Rookie of the Year in 1999 and was 2nd in the Points and he is a 2
time winner of the Shrine 100. Jeff won the March Madness at
Cherokee Super Speedway in the 00 car (his Dad's car).
Jeff's greatest racing thrill is winning.
He's most proud of
finishing 2nd to his dad and 1st in his Grandfathers memorial race.
His greatest racing accomplishment, winning the $10,000 to win at Cherokee
speedway.
Freddie Smith and his dad are his favorite
drivers.
Of racing, Jeff says, "Too much to pick
from......In the racing we do, it's like a tight nit family. You
might have spats but when it's all said and done, you are still friends!".
