Billy Coursey drives the #A-1 Thunder & Lightning Class car.  His home track is Sumter Speedway but he can also be found racing at I-20 Speedway.  He lives in Sumter, SC.  People who help Billy are:  Todd, Wayne, Ronnie, Dick, Andy, Robbie, Brett, Mike, Brandon and Ronnie H.

He started racing in 1984 in the Hobby Stock Class at Sumter Speedway because it was something fun to do and it kept him close to his family.  His first win was that same year.  He was voted the Most Improved Driver in 1985 and he's had 11 wins. 

The thrill of racing for Billy is that his family likes it and along with friends they enjoy watching good racing also.  His most exciting racing moment was winning. 

Billy's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt.

Of racing, Billy says, "Be good sports...what goes around comes around!  Treat others the way you want to be treated!".
