He started racing in 1984 in the Street Stock Class at Sumter Speedway because he loved it.  His first win was in 1985 in the Pure Stock Class at Sumter.  Career highlights include 205 wins and 7 Championships.

The thrill of racing for J.D. is the speed!  His most exhilarating racing moment was winning his first race.  He's most proud of his "luck".
