Geoff Olson
#2G
Geoff Olson drives the #2G Sport Mod Class
car. His home track is Interstate Speedway but he can also be
found racing at Park Jefferson Speedway and Blackbird Bend Speedway.
He lives in Sioux City, IA.
Team members helping Geoff are:
Steve Olson, Rick Mathieson, Dave McWilliams. Steve Olson is the
car owner.
Geoff started racing in 2004 in the
Sport Mod Class at Blackbird Bend Speedway because his Dad raced in IMCA
Modified from 1994-2003. After the '03 season, he didn't have
enough time to spend on the car so he gave Geoff the opportunity to
race. His first win was in '04 in the Sport Mod Class at Blackbird
Bend Speedway. Career highlights include '06 Interstate
Speedway Track Champion, 7 Feature wins, including 2 in '04, 3 in '05
and 2 in '06. More wins and Championships are on the way!
The thrill of racing for Geoff is the
control. When he gets into a race car, he has control over the
outcome of the race. His most exciting racing moment was winning
his first race. He's most proud of being down by 18 Points in the
standings in June and fighting back to win the Championship by September
with only 2 wins.
Geoff's racing hero is Steve Olson.
Of racing, Geoff says, "When you sit in
the stands and watch a race, you probably think in your head "Why don't
they pass that person?". Let me tell you, it's not that easy!
If you've never been scared, you've never gone fast enough!".
