Scooter Bates drives the #12 Modified Class car.  His home track is Cowtown Speedway.  He lives in Killeen, TX.

Team members helping Scooter are:  Teri Bates - Crew Chief, wife and best friend.  Horseshoe Motorsports is the car owner.

Scooter started racing in 1985 in the Street Stock Class at Heart O' Texas Speedway because it looked like fun.  His first win was in '91 in the Hot Stock Class at All-Star Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Scooter is making the car do what I want it to, not what it wants to do.  His most exciting racing moment was winning at Cowtown in March of '06 in his Bob Pierce Race Car the 4th night out.  He's most proud of his wife and him doing it together.

Scooter's racing heroes are Bill White, Paul White and Keith White.
