Billy Melton drives the #87 Modified Class car. He lives in Longview, TX.

Billy started racing in 1997 in the Modified Class at Lone Star Speedway because his father raced for 30 years. His first win was in 1998 in the Modified Class at Lone Star Speedway. Career highlights include 2003 Longhorn Round Up at Super Bowl Speedway, 2005 Piney Woods Classic at Thunder Mountain Speedway, and 2006 Turkey Nationals at Boothill Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Billy is the excitement and friends. He believes every weekend is exciting. He is most proud of finishing well each night and being able to help other racers.

Billy has many racing heroes he has met along the way.

Of racing, Billy says, "Dirt is for racing. Asphalt is for getting there!"
