Tommy Davis Sr. drives the #8 Sport Mod Class car.  His home track is Thunderbird Speedway but he can also be found racing at Grand Prairie Speedway.  He lives in Wills Points, TX.

Team members helping Tommy are:  Paul Finch, James Watson, Shane Hulse, Buzzy Daniel and a lot of others including wives and children. 

Tommy started racing in 1963 in the Figure 8 class at Sportsdrome Speedway because he was carrying on a family tradition, with his Dad being a racer.  His first win was that same year.  Career highlights include getting to go to New York to run Islop Speed on Long Island for the World Champion of Figure 8 Racing, winning 6 Modified Combined Championships at Grand Prairie Speedway, Cowtown Speedway and Thunderbird Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Tommy is the competition and being around all your like-minded friends, family and loved ones.  His most exciting racing moment was an accident in the Figure 8 intersection that knocked RL Flanklin's motor completely out of his car, broke both of his legs, knocked Tommy's helmet off and everybody thought Tommy's head was in it.  He's most proud of teaching his boys to race and seeing them mature into veteran racers with multi skills.

Tommy's racing  heroes are Gary Miles and Ronnie Sigman.

Of racing, Tommy says, "Is one of the few sports where the outcome is not predetermined and sin is not glorified as in most other sports.  Sin is still   ugly!".
