Brian King
#31
Brian King drives the #31 Street Stock
Class car. His home track is Texana Raceway but he can also be
found racing at Shady Oaks Speedway. He lives in Victoria, TX.
Team members helping Brian are:
Chris Shafer, Dad - Butch King, Mom, Tony Burnett, Mitch Wagner, Cooter
Koehne and more people than he could list. Butch King is the car
owner.
Brian started racing in 2008 in the
Street Stock Class at Texana Speedway and Shady Oaks Speedway because he
loves racing for as long as he can remember. His first win was in
'09 in the Street Stock Class at South Texas Speedway. Career
highlights include '08 Most Improved Driver, '09 5 Feature wins, 8 Heat
wins, finished 3rd in the Points at both Texana Speedway and Shady Oaks
Speedway.
The thrill of racing for Brian is the
competition, the teamwork that goes into it all and being on the track
running the hell outta the car. His most exciting racing moment
was his first win at STS. It was the Steve Tomlinson Memorial Race
and he won the Heat and led every lap of the Feature. What made it
even better was that he finally beat his mentor, Chris Shafer.
He's most proud of the respect he's gained from his fellow races.
He really doesn't have any enemies. It's fun to go out on the
track and run a good, hard, clean race...the wins are nice too!
Brian's racing heroes are Dale Earnhardt
and Chris Shafer.
Of racing, Brian says, "That it is the
most competitive sport I've ever been a part of. I've played
basketball, football, tennis and track. None of those as as
competitive as racing!".
