Gilbert Perez III drives the #36G Blue Motor Youth Class car.  His home track is South Texas Speedway but he can also be found racing at Shady Oaks Speedway.  He lives in Corpus Christi, TX.

Team members helping Gilbert are:  Micky Perez - Mom, Gilbert Perez Jr. - Dad, Amelia Perez - Sister.  Gilbert Perez III is the car owner.

Gilbert started racing in 2009 in the 5-7 Youth Class at South Texas Speedway and Rio Grand Speedway to compete with his older sister.  His first win was in '09 in the Youth Class at Halloween Havoc at Shady Oaks Speedway.  Career highlights include '09 finishing 5th in the Points at Rio Grand Speedway, '09 finishing 5th in the Points at South Texas Speedway, winner of 1st Annual Halloween Havoc race at Shady Oaks Speedway and '10 winner of Father's Day Spectacular at South Texas Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Gilbert is the Victory Lap, of course!  His most exciting racing moment was his first Feature win at the 1st Annual Halloween Havoc at Shady Oaks Speedway.  He's most proud of winning on Father's Day at South Texas Speedway (Happy Father's Day Dad).

Gilbert's racing hero is Jeff Gordon.

Of racing, Gilbert says, 'It's a lot of work to keep cars running but it is a lot of fun and very safe!".
