Derek Weaver
#32
Derek drives the #32 Modified Class car.
His home track is Texas D.I.R.T. Motorplex. He lives in Grand Saline, TX.
Team members helping Derek are: Terry and
Tammy Weaver. Derek Weaver is the car owner.
Derek started racing in 2004 in the Min
Mod Class at Lone Star Speedway because he wanted to be a race car driver.
His first win was in 2005 in the Mini Mod Class at Texas D.I.R.T.
Motorplex. Career highlights include 2004 finished 6th in points in Mini
Mod, 2005 Track Champion with 13 wins in the Mini Mod Class, 2006 Modified
9th in points, and 2007 Modified 6th in points with 2 blown motors.
The thrill of racing for Derek is the
competition, adrenaline rush, and the speed. His most exciting moment was
was breaking a steering bracket three laps into the race, having to start
at the back and winning the race with a unsecure steering wheel. He is
most proud of setting goals and accomplishing them and being able to
finish a race.
Derek's racing hero is Tony Stewart.
Of racing, Derek says, "Builds character!
When it's rough don't let it get you down! And it's a blast!"
