Charlie Smith drives the #516 Outlaw Modified Class car.  His home track is Thunderbird Speedway but he can also be found racing at Devils Bowl Speedway, Cowtown Speedway, Super Bowl Speedway and Thunderbird Speedway.  He lives in Forney, TX.

Team members helping Charlie are:  Jason, Robert, Uncle "Z", Uncle Brad, Racey, Dennis.  James Zimmerman is the car owner.

Charlie started racing in 2001 in the Modified Class at Thunderbird Speedway because he was born into it.  His first win was in '02 in the Modified class at Thunderbird Speedway.  Career highlights include finishing 3rd in the Halloween Classic at Royce City, finishing 2nd for the Short Track Championship, finishing 4th in the 4th of July Blowout at Tyler TX, winning the A Main at Abilene.

The thrill of racing for Charlie is spending time with the family (guys).  His most exciting racing moment was his first Feature win.  He's most proud of finishing 2nd in the Short Track Championship.

Charlie's racing hero is his Uncle and owner James Zimmerman.
