#01
Richard Boswell Jr. drives the #01 Late
Model Stock Class car. He lives in Friendship, MD. His home track is
Old Dominion Speedway.
He started racing in 1995 in the Go Karts
Class at Nation Wide because he'd always been around it as his Dad
has raced for 30 years. His first win was in 1996 in the Go Karts at
VSA. Career highlights include 1998 World Karting Association
National Champion, 1998 Grand National Champion, 2003 3rd place in Old
Dominion Speedway Points behind 2003 National Champ Mark McFarland.
The thrill of racing for Richard is the
competition. His most exciting racing moment was running 2nd to Mark
McFarland. He's most proud of WKA National Championship, and his 3rd
place Points finish at ODS in 2003.
Richard's racing hero is his Dad, Dickie
Boswell and Dale Earnhardt.
Of racing, Richard says, "It's a great
time if you've got the money to be competitive every week. Money has
a lot to do with being competitive. It can be heartbreaking if you
don't have a lot of money behind you!".
