Mike Gwaltney drives the #01 Grand Stock Class car and the #44 Legend Series Class car.  He lives in Richmond, VA.  His home track is Southside Speedway but he can also be found racing at Old Dominion Speedway.

He started racing in 1987 in the Mini Stock Class at Virginia Raceway.  His first win was that same year.  Career highlights include 2 Mini Stock Championships in 1988 and 1991and 2000 Southside Speedway Legends Champion.

The thrill of racing for Mike is the speed and competition.  His most exciting racing moment was flipping his Legend car at Southside Speedway in 2002.  He's most proud of his wins and Track Championships. 

Mike's racing hero is Sonny Hutchins.
