Tony Ingram Sr.
#9
Tony Ingram Sr. drives the #9 Grand Stock
Class car. He lives in Burkeville, VA. His home track is
Southside Speedway.
He started racing in 1998 in the Enduro
Class at Southside Speedway because his Uncle, Robert Lipford #43 talked
Tony into racing. Career highlights include when he passed his Uncle
Robert in turn 3, clean, on the outside.
The thrill of racing for Tony is when he
can finish a race and it's a plus if he finishes on the lead lap.
His most exciting racing moment was when he blew his motor up, first race
of this season. They called him the torch. You could only see
the outline of Tony, sitting in the car, through the flames and smoke.
He's most proud that his wife and he actually built his car and motor
themselves and although it's not a top 5 (yet), it is a contender.
Tony's racing hero is Mark Martin.
Of racing, Tony says, "That racing is an
exciting and fun sport to not only watch, but also to participate in!".
His favorite racing website is
