Herk Armel drives the #500 Late Model
class car. He lives in Stephenson, Va. His home track is Winchester but he
can also be found racing at Hagerstown and Cumberland.
He began racing in 1988 in Pure Stock at
Winchester because he was "dumb and loved it". His first win was in 1988
at Winchester. Career highlights include, 1990 P.S. Champ, 1999 Semi Late
Champ, 1999 Hagerstown-won "Run What You Brung" at ISO weekend.
The thrill of racing for Herk is the
constant challenge. His most exciting racing moment was in 1999 when he
won the "Run What You Brung" Race. He is most proud of his championships
and learning.
His racing hero is Bobby Armel.
